Start With What You Have

As a City Councillor, Matthew Green’s commitment to Asset Base Community Development practices while in office has made a meaningful difference for residents. His constituency, has 4 of the 11 ‘Code Red’ priority neighbourhood hubs that are organized on the ABCD model.
Working with community members, Matthew passed the Blue Dot Motion, making Hamilton the first city in Ontario to adopt an environmental bill of rights. Matthew’s support of community activists in providing political advocacy opposing police carding and racial profiling had a direct impact on provincial policy resulting in more stringent regulations on how local police interact with our community.
He is a strong advocate for affordable, dignified housing, actively supporting inclusionary zoning and will be speaking at the Community Building Summit on June 28th in Columbus, Ohio.
